The Arab American University Radio has participated in the twenty-fourth Arab Radio and Television Festival, which was held in Tunisia, under the slogan “Supporting Palestine,” organized by the Arab States Broadcasting Union in partnership between the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, Tunisian Television, Tunisian Radio, and Arabsat.

The University delegation included the Head of the Arabic Language and Media Department at the Faculty of Arts and Education, Mr. Sudqi Mousa, and the Director of the Radio and Television, Mr. Mohammad Al Azmoti.

The film “Hanan, Martyr of Education,” directed by Dima Maree, a graduate of the Department of Arabic Language and Media, and supervised by Mr. Sudqi Mousa, was nominated to compete in the documentary film competition that was held within the events of the festival.

On the sidelines of the festival activities, many meetings were held with Arab media institutions and technical companies working in the field of broadcasting and radio to learn about their experiences and benefit from them, in addition to visiting the corner of the technical exhibition in which production companies, television and radio networks, news agencies and international stations participated, where they reviewed the latest audio-visual technological developments.

The aim of the festival, which is held annually, is to contribute to the development of Arab radio and television production and raise its level in a way that meets the aspirations of the members and the principles for which they work, as well as monitoring innovative and serious trends in Arab radio and television production, and encouraging them in order to develop Arab creative energies in this field.

Representatives of the union’s member bodies with expertise in the fields of directing, production and program preparation, representatives of private Arab production companies, news agencies and foreign Arabic-speaking radio and television stations, as well as representatives of private radio and television networks and international radio and television unions have participated in the festival.
