After a generous invitation from the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Dalal Iriqat- the VP for International Relations has concluded her visit to the Republic of Lithuania where she participated in a conference and held some important meetings.

Dr. Iriqat participated in the two-day conference entitled “the Future of Democracy” that was organized in Lithuania’s capital Vilnius and discussed the international status of the authoritarian regimes, the road to democracy, the relation of democracy to globalization, media, technology and the modern tools to fight corruption and the enhance of the popular participation through enabling the role of the civil society in formulating public policies in international systems.

During her visit, Dr. Iriqat had a meeting with Prof. Dr. Sarunas Liekis- the representative of Vytauto Didžiojo Universiteta and they discussed the collaboration between both universities and to encourage the exchange relations and the joint programs.

Moreover, Dr. Iriqat had a meeting with the Middle East Department in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the presence of the Head of the Department Ms. Gabriel Claimite and her team where Dr. Dalal had the chance to describe the political situation from an academic Palestinian perspective, and to discuss Lithuania’s role in changing the current status against the accountability of “Israel” and how Lithuania respects its moral commitments to the protection of the Palestinian human right.
