AAUP Visits the Nahf Local Council and Organizes an Open Day for a Number of Schools in the Palestinian Occupied Lands

The offices of the Arab American University in the Palestinian occupied lands organized an open day for a number of schools at home. In this activity, they presented academic programs in the BA degree in Jenin and Ramallah campuses. They discussed the horizon of joint cooperation with the local council in Nahf in the occupied lands.

The university delegation consisted of Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Eng. Bara Asfour, Vice President for Medical Faculties Affairs, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Asia, Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Rami Hodrob, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Amro, General Manager of the Arab American University Company, Prof. Faleh Abu Arra, and Director of the University Offices in the Palestinian interior, Mr. Anan Al-Deek.

The tour of the university delegation began with a visit to the local council in An-Nahf. They were received by the head of the council, Mr. Mohammad Zuri, who praised the university academic and scientific role. He indicated that the university embrace of students from the Palestinian interior is an affirmation that the university is for all Palestinians. It contributed to saving effort and money for its students. He also appreciated the university efforts to facilitate students' affairs by opening offices in Haifa, Rahat, and Majdal Shams, which contributed to decreasing the suffering of students who had to travel to Jenin for registration procedures, emphasizing the importance of cooperation with an academic institution in order to serve students.

For his part, Director of the University Offices in the occupied Palestine, Mr. Anan Al-Deek, thanked the local council and its president for the hospitality. He pointed out that the University with its offices in the occupied Palestine is ready to cooperate with all Arab local councils inside in order to provide better service to students, and to facilitate their affairs at the university through our offices in Haifa, Rahat, and Majdal Shams. He emphasized that the University Board of Directors and its Founding President, Dr. Yousef Asfour, greatly support the offices in the Palestinian interior to be a link between students and the university two Jenin and Ramallah Campuses. These offices provide all services and facilities. He explained that the university has worked to achieve all the requirements that qualified it for official recognition from all relevant authorities. With this recognition, university graduates are able to engage in the labor market and in all institutions in the occupied Palestinian lands.

The university delegation presented a plaque of appreciation to the head of the local council in Nahf, Muhammad Zuri.

This was followed by a visit by the university delegation to Ibn Sina Secondary School in Nahaf, where an open day was organized in which 220 male and female students from different schools from Nahaf, Al-Bannah, and Deir Al-Assad was organized. During this event, the university delegation distributed introductory leaflets about the specializations available at the university in its two Jenin and Ramallah campuses, in addition to answering students' questions and inquiries, most of which focused on the extent to which institutions at home recognize the university's specializations. Dean of Admission and Registration, Dr. Rami Hodrob assured students that all specializations in the Arab American University, such as BA, MA, and PhD degrees are recognized by institutions operating in occupied Palestinian lands.

During the inauguration of the open day activities, the principal of Ibn Sina Secondary School, Mr. Haitham Qadiri, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees. He emphasized the importance of having university offices inside, which contributed to facilitating students when registering for the university or inquiring about specific majors. He also referred to the importance of cooperation in order to serve Students in the Palestinian schools.

For his part, Director of the University Offices in the occupied lands, Mr. Anan Al-Deek, gave a speech in which he thanked the schools participating in this day and the students who came to learn more about the Arab American University. "I stand among you after a long journey that the Arab American University, the University of all Palestinians, has gone through in its different details, from idea to action, from action to effectiveness, and from effectiveness to the path of sophistication, progress, and success” he said.

He pointed out that the university has achieved a distinguished scientific model that keeps pace with the challenges of the times. It is also in line with its requirements, so the university has worked to adopt more than one hundred and twenty different programs in all disciplines to advance our students scientifically, and to conduct their affairs practically. He added that the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Dr. Yousef Asfour took a serious step to achieve this facilitation for our students, so he approved official offices affiliated with the university directly, without an agent or intermediary, providing all services and facilities in Haifa, Rahat, and Majdal Shams. The university worked to fulfill all the requirements that qualified it for official recognition from All competent authorities. With this recognition, university graduates are able to engage in the labor market and in all institutions at home.

"I can only thank you for this wonderful day. We promise you that the University of All Palestinians will be your second home. We also promise you to achieve more development of the university and its programs, so that its graduates will have better opportunities for a more beautiful future", he concluded his speech.

Questions and inquiries addressed to the university administration by students were allowed and leaflets introducing the university and its majors were distributed to students.
