During the ceremony that was held at Al-Quds University the partner universities Arab American University, Al-Quds University, and Polytechnic University announce the start of the joint Ph.D. program in IT Engineering the first of its kind in Palestine.

The ceremony was attended by the President of Al-Quds University Dr. Imad Abu Kishk, President of Polytechnic University Prof. Imad Al-Khatib, and from AAUP the VP of Planning and Quality Affairs Dr. Ahmed Sadaqa, representing AAUP President Prof. Ali Zaidan Abu Zuhri, and AAUP delegation. In addition to representatives of governmental, NGO and private institutions, and the accepted students of this program.
The President of Al-Quds University Dr. Imad Abu Kishk opened the ceremony welcoming the attendees, and pointing out that the partner universities are proudly working on an advanced level in higher education, through the high experiences of these universities. the doctoral program in IT Engineering will deliver a higher level of scientific research, and technological development, that will help find solutions of today’s problems.
He pointed out that the real transformation is by producing knowledge and distinguished efforts of researchers in the Palestinian universities, thus providing high-quality education for Palestinian students in the main aspects of IT to become outstanding researchers and academics in this area, furthermore doctorate degree is about advanced scientific research provided by the students so as a result achieving the desired goal of this program.
For his part, VP of Planning and Quality Affairs Dr. Ahmed Sadaqa expressed the importance of this program, praising the role of the Palestinian universities in developing the Palestinian society. As he added that this joint program is the result of the great efforts of all three universities AAUP, Al-Quds and Polytechnic Universities. This program will provide academic services to its students through unique faculty members, adding that all programs offered should aim first to serve the Palestinian community.
He pointed out that the program is the first of its kind in Palestine, as it adds value to higher education with distinguished academic outputs. This program aims to fundamentally change the reality of IT and connecting it with engineering in the Palestinian market, especially universities, research centers and information technology companies.
The President of Polytechnic University Prof. Imad Al-Khatib, expressed his pride of the successful partnership between the partner universities, assuring on enhancing competitiveness and efforts to succeed this joint program, and increasing joint collaborations. As he added that all universities are considered to be platforms for supportive scientific research, in order to academically and practically apply this program. Science engineering and technology interacts with all other sciences, thanking the technical groups for their efforts for this establishment.
Ph.D. program in IT Engineering will be taught in three partnership universities, AAUP, Al-Quds and Polytechnic Universities in the American style that is bases on theoretical and practical courses, scientific research, comprehensive exams, theses and defense thesis. The program will be delivered by unique faculty members.
This program with its joint Palestinian universities partnership will offer a real opportunity for those who are interested in obtaining a doctoral degree in IT Engineering without the need to travel aboard and paying additional costs for their study.
