Arab American University, in cooperation with Aqqaba Municipality, honored Quran memorizers at Hamza bin Abdul Muttalib Masjid in the town, as part of its community responsibility that aims to promote and empower knowledge in various fields, most notably the Quran and its sciences.

The honoring ceremony was attended by Aqaba Mayor Abdul Razek Abu Arra, Tubas Endowments Director Sheikh Mahmoud Ruwaisat, University public relations officer Ahmad Abu Toul and University volunteers, director of the Call Research Department at the Ministry of Endowments Nabeel Abu Arra, and memorization centers official Manar Daraghmeh.

Sheikh Mahmoud Ruwaisat expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Quran memorizers and his full support for the memorization centers and harnessing all the necessary capabilities to further improve the status of the Quran memorization centers in Tubas. He appreciated the important role played by the Arab American University in the field of Knowledge, and stressed that Ms. Manar Daraghmeh is a graduate of the Arab American University, which also hosts the Holy Quran Forum at its campus. He added “what we saw from her in terms of high skills made her responsible for the memorization centers in Tubas and made us trust the educational process of the University”.

In turn, Ahmad Abu Toul conveyed the greetings of the Acting President of the University, Dr. Bara Asfour, to the students and their families. He stressed that the University will always remain supportive of the message of science and learning at any time, explaining that the University is proud of the students of different ages and will spare no effort in motivating and supporting them morally.

For his part, Mr. Abdul Razzaq Abu Arra said: "Aqqaba and its people have always been keen on learning and science circles, especially learning the Holy Quran. He appreciated the efforts of the Arab American University, its support and participation in honoring the students who memorized the Book of Allah. The ceremony was concluded with honoring the memorization teachers and students and distributing gifts to them.
