The Arab American University announced on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, the opening of the modern virtual pharmacy within the scope of advanced education in the Faculty of Pharmacy in a pioneering step to enhance the quality of pharmaceutical education. The opening took place with the presence of a number of official and academic figures represented by the Governor of Jenin, Mr. Kamal Abu Al-Rub, the Acting President of the University, Dr. Bara Asfour, the representative of the Ministry of Health and the Director General of the General Administration of Pharmacy, Dr. Tahani Fattouh, and the representative of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Ashraf Nuirat, and a number of academic deputies, deans, faculty and students
The opening began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and Al-Fatihah for the souls of the martyrs, while the Acting President of the University, Dr. Bara Asfour, welcomed the attendees in a speech, stressing that this achievement comes within the framework of the University's efforts to provide its students with the latest technologies and skills necessary to keep pace with the rapid developments in the field of health care. Dr. Asfour praised the efforts of the teaching and administrative staff who strive at the University to reach the highest levels in educating and excelling students.
Dr. Asfour added, "The pharmacy is equipped with the latest technologies and programs specialized in the field of pharmacy, which guarantees students a rich and realistic educational experience."
In turn, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Dr. Hatem Hijaz, confirmed that the virtual pharmacy aims to provide an integrated educational environment for students, where they can apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in a realistic simulation environment that gives them the opportunity to train on various medical prescriptions, manage inventory, and interact with patient simulation models, which perfectly prepares them for the labor market.
In turn, the Director General of the General Administration of Pharmacy, Dr. Tahani Fattouh, expressed her pride in this achievement, which opens horizons for other educational institutions to follow the University's example in establishing simulation projects to enhance students' access to the labor market with the highest skills and sciences.
For his part, the representative of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Dr. Ashraf Nuirat said that the labor market views this achievement as a new way to develop students' skills and enhance their access to real pharmacies after graduation, praising the University's role in its efforts to promote these educational projects.
Jenin Governor Kamal Abu Al-Rub expressed his happiness with this achievement, stressing the importance of the virtual pharmacy in developing pharmaceutical education and enhancing the professional competencies of graduates.
