The University participated in the UniMed meetings of the Mediterranean Universities Union, as part of the annual meeting held by the Union. The University was represented by VP for Academic Affairs Dr. Zaki Saleh and VP of International Relations Dr. Dalal Erekat.
The meetings lasted for three days and included many various topics, notably the cooperation of universities in the north and south of the Mediterranean to find solutions and draw common policies to guide research and projects to serve the interests of the Mediterranean.
The participants presented university and academic research projects that contribute in solving them, the meetings concluded with a discussion of the European Union's plans to move from the Horizon 2020 targets to the Horizon Europe objectives, noting that the ideas and forms of exchange between the students of the universities of the Mediterranean were reviewed through the use of technology and the applications of Virtual Exchange.
On the other hand, the representatives of Arab American University met with the Palestinian Ambassador in Belgium Abdel Rahim Al-Farra. The two parties discussed the bridging approaches between universities and Belgian academic institutions with their Palestinian counterparts, especially Arab American University which has many international relations and cooperation with Belgian universities.
