A Delegation from Jenin Governorate Visits the Arab American University

A delegation from the Jenin governorate visited the Arab American University to get acquainted with the University Medical Rehabilitation Complex at the university. They were received by the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Amro, Deputy Dean, Dr. Mohammad Al-Jamal, Heads of Departments in the Faculty, and the social worker at the university, Dr. Laila Herzallah.

The visiting delegation consisted of the assistant governor of Jenin, Mr. Jihad Al-Taher, the director of public relations in the governorate, Ms. Sana Al-Badawi, the official of the social committee, Ms. Abeer Jarrar, and the employee in the governorate, Sawsan Mahajna.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Dr. Amro, welcomed the visiting delegation. He gave a detailed explanation about the university medical rehabilitation complex, which was opened last year. He indicated that the complex provides many medical, health, and rehabilitation services in different departments and specializations. Specialists and experts follow-up on patients from The local community. He explained that the Jenin governorate in particular and the northern governorates in the West Bank need a rehabilitative medical complex that provides services to the Palestinian public.

He added that the opening of this medical complex is necessary for several reasons, most notably, that the complex is supervised by specialists holding various scientific degrees, under the management of an academic institution, in addition to decreasing the suffering of travel and financial costs for patients who go to the center and south of the West Bank. The complex trains university students from medical and health faculties. The student graduates from the university qualified and ready to engage in the labor market. He indicated that the various departments in the medical complex contain the latest modern technological means according to international specifications. The complex is now signing many agreements with a number of concerned institutions and agencies at the local, regional, and international levels. He also stated that the medical complex is ready to receive patients to provide them with medical, health, and rehabilitation services.

In turn, Assistant Governor of Jenin, Mr. Jihad Al-Taher, expressed his pride in the Arab American University and the scientific, medical, and health services it provides to the local community, especially the presence of a Rehabilitation Medical Complex that provides many services to the Palestinian public. He emphasized that the university has become an important academic landmark in Jenin Governorate, indicating that The governorate has cases that need such services.

For her part, Sanaa Al-Badawi, Director of Public Relations in Jenin Governorate, conveyed the greetings of the Jenin Governor, Major General Akram Rajoub, and emphasized the importance of having a medical complex in Jenin Governorate, wishing success, development, and access to the world.

Heads of Departments in the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences gave a detailed explanation of the departments in the Faculty, such as the Artificial Limbs Factory, the Speech and Hearing Center, Physiotherapy, Functional Therapy, and other services provided by the Departments of the Faculty.

The visit was concluded with a field tour by the visiting delegation in the University Rehabilitation Medical Complex to learn more about its departments.
