Arab American University represented by Dr. Yousef Asfour- the Chairman of the Board of Directors and Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- the University President welcomed a delegation from the military intelligence headed by General Maher Al Faris (Abu Wasif) who visited AAUP –Ramallah Campus to discuss means of joint collaboration to develop Palestinian strategy to information security.

Dr. Yousef Asfour welcomed the delegation and talked about Arab American University, its academic programs, its achievements and its future projects and vision to advance higher education in Palestine. Dr. Asfour also explained how hard they worked and the efforts during the establishing period of AAUP and the mechanisms they use to develop the different academic programs. Moreover, Dr. Asfour and Prof. Abu Zuhri praised the role that the security services do in enforcing the rule of law, and keeping the country secure and safe, which helped the university develop its services and programs.

During the meeting, they discussed future collaboration opportunities between the university and the Intelligence services aiming to develop information security in Palestine and provide information security system to protect Palestinian institutions, in addition to benefiting from AAUP experiences as being the pioneer in providing postgraduate programs such as the Master in Cybercrimes and Digital Evidence Analysis, Master in Cyber Security and Master in Criminal Science and these programs serve the information security strategy in Palestine.

General Al Faris discussed the collaboration means with the university and praised the efforts of AAUP in developing human cadres in this field and the new programs the university provides that are the first of its kind in the Palestinian society for Palestinians in the West Bank, Gaza and the Palestinians inside the Green Line.
