The Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences in Arab American University organized an open day for speech, language and hearing disorders for students of the first and second years aiming to raise awareness and inform students about the future plans for developing the Department, listen to their inquiries and implement some scientific and entertainment activities.
The open day started by a speech of Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs as he welcomed students and talked about the plans to develop the speech, language and hearing disorders Department as the pan is to develop the labs and equip them with the best devices and technology of international specifications to achieve the goal of the department through the theoretical and practical education.
Dr. Hisham Kaabyeh- the Assistant to the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences for Academic Affairs ensured that the Faculty is focusing and putting special case to the Department of speech, language and hearing disorders in order to continue with the academic development, in addition to providing the best academic, administrative and technical faculty members and staff aiming to graduate distinguish and qualified student s to join the labor market.
The Head of the Department Mr. Mohammad Salahat asked students to try to gain as much science and skills during their study journey especially that the Palestinian market is in need for qualified people in this field.
The open day had many different activities as an introductory video was projected prepared by Ms. Nour Wawi and a video about the speech, language and hearing disorders for the second year students. Also the Gloosary Zone Club was launched by students Alaa Asia and Raya Qarout and supervised by Ms. Marian Jarrar, this club aims to provide students with a reference tool for the medical terminology of this program. Another activity was about playing musical tools by students Mohammad Kilani and Issa Zaiton, while another activity was about study plan with student Raya Qarout. The open day was concluded with a scientific contest prepared by specialist Rama Joudeh, for the first and second year students.
