Faculty of Law Participates in International Moot Court in Washington DC

Arab American University Faculty of Law participated in the “Jessup” International Moot Court competition in Washington DC, which will be held in the period between 9 to 15 in the month of April of this year.

International Law Professor at Faculty of Law Dr. Rizq Samoudi and supervisor of university team, said our Faculty of Law was chosen after a local competition held lately in Ramallah city where 9 Palestinian universities participated. Pointing, Washington’s DC international moot court will be a simulation to International Justice Court where various law schools from international universities compete.

He explained, this year’s issue will address the mechanism treating legal status of cross-border groundwater and mainly cultural property, noting that for the second year in a row Arab American University Faculty of Law will participate in this competition, last year's issue was about cyber-attacks.

Faculty of Law Dean Dr. Bashar Daraghmeh stressed on the importance of participating in the International Contest which confirms that the university have been placed on the world’s map, pointing that the college encourages its students to participate in international activities to gain practical and scientific experience that helps them involve in labor market on local or regional level.

Faculty of Law welcomed the American Bar Association Representative Ms. Bahar Mir-Hosseini to finish the university team travel arrangements to Washington, they are Yasmin Amer, Lina Fashafsheh, Abeer Jaradat, Rafsilia Faisal, Mlak Jeris and Dareen Mahajneh.
