The Hearing and Speech Department in the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences in AAUP honored the students who participated in the therapy sessions for some children in the local community. The honoring was during a ceremony that was organized under the supervision of Prof. Mohammad Asia- the VP for Medical Schools Affairs and with the presence of Dr. Mohammad Amr- the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Mr. Mohammad Salahat- the Head of the Hearing and Speech Department and Ms. Nour Wawi- a Lecturer in the Department.
The sessions were to evaluate and treat some children during the summer semester, those children are with different cases such as: communication disorders, language and speech delays, and sounds disorders.
These sessions aimed to provide services to the local community and introduce students to the speech, language and hearing disorders in a scientific way through attending the sessions, writing notes and attending meetings with lecturers and specialists who are responsible for these sessions about the development of the cases and to answer any questions and inquiries.
Parents of the students expressed their satisfaction of the positive development of their children’s cases. Moreover, cases will be followed up in the centers of the university that were recently established in the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences as the centers are fully equipped with the most modern and global evaluation devices and tools.
Honored students appreciated the Faculty and the Department for this initiative and expressed their happiness with the skills and knowledge that they gained from these sessions.
