The Minister of Heath Dr. May Kella, and AAUP President Prof. Ali Zaidan Abu Zuhri open new dental clinics for Faculty of Dentistry at AAUP.

Dr. May Kella and the delegation was welcomed by President Assistant Eng. Bara Asfour, member of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Jamal Huwail, Dean of Faculty of Dentistry Dr. Shukri Killab, and President Assistant for Medical Schools Prof. Mohammad Asia.

The Minister said the AAUP is unique with its typical faculties specially faculty of dentistry, where it provides an additional value to education and several free services to its society at both campuses Jenin and Ramallah. As she added that the Minister of Health congratulates the opening of these clinics and that the university is considered to be a main support to the health sector not just in its qualified medical staff but also in its partnerships with the ministry that positively reflects on the best services offered to the Palestinian citizens.

Faculty of Dentistry contains educational and therapeutic center, specialized academic clinics, such as Oral and Dental Radiology Dept., as it also contains a central sterilization unit, advanced dental laboratories, and Reception and preliminary detection clinics.

AAUP President Prof. Abu Zuhri assured that the Faculty of Dentistry is considered to be the first dental faculty in Palestine, that provides modern education by its professional faculty members, and world-class clinics. Adding that the opening of new dental clinics is part of AAUP continues developments plan of faculty facilities and providing international medical devices the meet the needs of a typical modern faculty and its unique education along with providing free services to the community.

He Said: that all dental clinics and centers at both campuses receive around 20 thousand patients through the year providing them free treatment services, and the faculty provides annually 500 dentures to its Palestinian citizens, also 320 braces, 5000 Tooth filling, 24300 X-ray, and other dental services. As it organizes training courses for schools to provide treatment services and detect dental illness, and provide awareness regarding dental and gum care.

Prof. Abu Zuhri added that the BOD is keen to support the faculty, its clinic, and medical centers at both campuses Jenin and Ramallah to become a typical international academic faculty that provides treatment services.

Minister Kela took a tour at Faculty of Nursing, its labs and devices as she praised the university for its international equipment.
