Arab American University announced starting to prepare for hosting the fourth International Conference on Smart Digital Heritage, organized by the University in cooperation with the University of Paris 8, starting on the beginning of May this year for three days under the auspices of the French Consulate.

A number of Arab and International academics, researchers and experts from Tunisia, France, Belgium, Brazil, Norway and Greece will participate in the conference. Each will address there specialty in digital heritage and its methods.

Head of The fourth Conference Dr. Amjad Ratroot, AAUP lecturer, said this conference aims to document heritage of all kinds using modern technologies, exchanging expertise and communicate. Pointing, preparations reached advance stage, participating papers are being reviewed, technical preparations started, choosing official speakers and send invitations to official characters.

Pointing, Arab American University have been chosen to host the forth conference after the Constituent Committee in Tunisia voted as there was tough competition between Palestine, Algeria and UK. Tunisia already hosted the 2nd and 3rd conferences and the first was in Paris 2013, at the time it was an international workshop initiative by University of Paris 8, Kinnam Paris, Arab American University and Birzeit University with the UNESCO support, and the next three courses being held in Italy, France and Tunisia.

Dr. Ratroot stressed on the importance of organizing this conference for Palestine, especially the University, as it’s contributing to raise University's academic and scientific research level, placing it on the international map and highlighting the Palestinian heritage.
