The University Announces the Start of Teaching Ph.D. Program in Business, the First of Its Kind in Palestine

An Orientation Day for students in PhD program in Business organized by the Faculty of Graduate Studies where the University announced the start of teaching PhD program in Business with a joint collaboration of Indiana University in Pennsylvania, USA.

The Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies Dr. Abdulrahman Abu Libdeh, said: "The University announced a year and a half ago that the university has received an accreditation for a worldwide unique program. Today, the University is celebrating the first meeting of this doctoral program and announced the start of teaching it. As he pointed out the high interest of the business sector in enhancing and supporting this program, where he thanked the Bank of Palestine for their Scholarship offer for the doctoral students.

He pointed out that the doctoral program in business is a new program, which is an adding value to the programs offered by the university as well as to the higher education in the country. Furthermore, the university’s expectations are high that the outputs of this program will be pioneering and distinguished through international and local professors with scientific and research competence and practical experience.

Dr. Abu Libdeh explained that the student of this specialization can obtain two degrees, the first from Arab American University and the second from Indiana University. The student will receive modern science, outstanding knowledge, academic and research skills, to enhance critical thinking and creative solutions in the administrative processes related to the management and development of different institutions. Whether governmental, private or civil institutions.

For his part, the coordinator of the doctoral program in business from Indiana University Dr. Braashan Bahradaoj discussed with students in a video conferencing the importance of this program being accredited by the AACSB agency, that is specialized in accrediting international business programs in the world, whereas only 20% of the American universities meet the requirements of this accreditation.

He explained that the opportunity to receive the certificate of this program in Palestine is a great academic achievement, and a qualitative shift in the field of business in Palestine.

He also assured that the academic members of this program obtain the highest levels of educaton and international standards in scientific research, and are very excited to meet students and start teaching and interact with them and transfer their experiences to Palestine students at the university.
