The University Organizes a Technology and Engineering Day- the Tenth

The Faculty of IT and Engineering at AAUP organizes Technology & Engineering Day- The 10th, which aims to present students achievements and projects inform of specialized institutions and companies in IT & Engineering sector, to enhance competition among students.

The activities started with an opening ceremony, attended by VP of Training Affairs Dr. Nizam Dhiab and Under-Secretary of the Minister of Communications and IT Eng. Jamil Zagharneh, Deputy Governor of Jenin Kamal Abu-AlRub, Head of Engineers Union Eng. Samir Rimawi and Dean of Faculty of IT and Engineering Dr. Mohammad Hamarsheh.

During his speech, Dr. Dhiab sent the greetings on behalf of the University’s President Prof. Ali Abu Zuhri, and assured that the university reaped what it has sowed during the past years, where it has ambassadors in each international, Arabic and Palestinian company and institute holding sensitive positions in their careers. As he praised the role of the Faculty of IT and Engineering in graduating generations accountant and responsible in contributing and developing the society, explaining that the university is unique than others in combining Palestinians from all places, as the university always seeks to integrate new and distinguished programs to meet with the markets needs locally and internationally.

The Under-Secretary of the Minister of Communication and IT Eng. Jamil Zagharneh thanked AAUP for holding such events, noting to the importance technology in our daily lives, illustrating that the university’s graduate distinguished generations in IT and Engineering sector, that are able to progress and set their mark locally and internationally. Furthermore, Palestinian students show high interest in IT specializations due to their understanding of the importance of this sector.

The head of Engineers Union Eng. Samir Rimawi said that the Union is an incubator for all Engineers, and created a committee that contains each of the Minister of Higher Education, Academic institutions, and the Union in order to evaluate the situations of graduate engineers and determine the need of the market, suitable engineering careers, and guide the students to specific specializations. Noting that about 27 thousand engineers have enrolled in the Union as 1500 yearly, as he assured the importance providing jobs for the graduates, supporting and encouraging them in also establishing certain projects aiming to enhance their existence and their contribution in developing the state.

For his part, Deputy Governor of Jenin Kamal Abul-AlRub praised AAUP for its role in supporting its students and encouraging them to innovate through the opportunities of presenting their projects to the public, institutions and companies, stressing the importance of the role of youth in the contribution and development process.

The Dean of the Faculty of IT and Engineering Dr. Mohammed Hamarsheh congratulated the students for their creative and excellent performance. As he added that the university always seeks to develop new special programs where he mentioned the development of new special PhD program in IT & Engineering in partnership with two Palestinian universities, which will be launched at the beginning of the new academic year, has he mentioned the new Partnerships with the local, regional and international specialized institutions and companies, which in turn have trained the university’s graduates.

The event included a tour around the exhibition to see the student achievement in various engineering and technological projects. As they honored the winning students this day.
