Abstract:

This study aimed at exploring the attitudes of the school principals towards disseminating the culture of societal peace at the Galilee schools. To achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire, which consisted of eleven items, was developed and then applied after confirming its validity and reliability. The population of the study included 267 principals at Galilee schools, out of which a sample of (188) female and male principals was included. In addition semi-structured interviews were done with a purposive sample of nine female and male principals. The study results have shown that the level of the attitudes of the school principals towards disseminating the culture of the societal peace at the Galilee was high. In addition, there were significant statistical differences between the attitudes towards the culture of societal peace at the elementary schools in comparison to the high school. The study recommended that the societal involvement should be deepened in order to develop an appropriate methodology for the culture of societal peace and implement it in both elementary and high schools.
