Mr. Bahgat Ayasi currently serves as the Assistant to the President for Information Technology Affairs at the Arab American University – Palestine (AAUP), a role he has held since 2015. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Jaén, Spain (2023–2026), with a strong academic foundation in Computer Science from Al-Quds University.
With over 26 years of experience in academia and IT technical and managerial roles, Mr. Ayasi has successfully led and overseen more than 100 major IT projects. His areas of expertise span IT governance, database administration, operating systems, software development across multiple programming languages, and advanced AI and data science frameworks.
His current research focuses on Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) and their applications in energy-efficient computing and predictive modeling, alongside broader interests in data science, neuromorphic engineering, and intelligent systems.
