Overview

The Department of Social Sciences at the Faculty of Graduate Studies offers distinguished and specialized academic programs at the national level that reflect Palestine’s need for expertise and skills that contribute to serving the community and its official and popular institutions. This department offers distinguished Master's and Ph.D. programs, including the Conflict Resolution Program, which is the first of its kind in Palestine.

This department deals with a wide range of contemporary social, political and literary issues related to local and international issues relevant to Palestinian and Arab society. Its courses are taught by a distinguished group of professors specialized in the fields of social sciences and international relations.

Although each discipline has a different focus, there are several important common elements in the structure and design of these programs. Through these programs, students learn about the significant and fundamental theories of each discipline, their historical roots, as well as the debates surrounding them, in addition to how these theories, philosophical concepts, and theoretical ideas emerged, changed, and were refuted over time.
