Overview
The department offers educational and training opportunities tailored to nursing students, enhancing their academic success and retention. It provides high-quality academic and practical training, preparing graduates to serve Palestinian society as health leaders, researchers, caregivers, educators, advocates, and counselors. The department fosters productive relationships with the community, higher education institutions, businesses, local schools, and regional colleges.
A standout feature is its use of advanced technology, including a simulation lab modeled as a mini-hospital. This lab offers a safe training environment with high-tech patient dolls, classrooms, control rooms, and debriefing rooms. The simulators allow students to practice various nursing skills (e.g., intravenous injections, CPR, and catheter insertion) in realistic scenarios before real-world application. The lab is equipped with a camera system for monitoring and discussing student performance.
Additionally, the department houses the American Heart Association's Heart Center, accredited for training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and advanced life support (ACLS, PALS). The center trains doctors, nurses, students, and emergency responders using state-of-the-art equipment and qualified trainers.
