The Faculties of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University has held the first programming competition under the title "Let's Code with AAUP", with the aim of enhancing students' skills in the fields of programming and problem solving.
This competition is part of the University's vision to prepare qualified students with high skills that are in line with the requirements of the labor market, as well as to enhance their participation in local and international competitions.
More than 25 students from the two Faculties participated in the competition, competing to solve various questions, creating an atmosphere of positive competition among the participants.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Mahmoud Obeid, indicated that this competition reflects the University's commitment to developing students' skills and enhancing their abilities to face challenges, in addition to preparing a generation of graduates capable of critical thinking and problem solving, which contributes to preparing them effectively for the labor market.
For his part, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Mohammed Maree, explained that the main objective of this competition is to motivate students to participate effectively in local and international competitions. He pointed out that the presence of the Arab American University students in scientific and technological forums is an important achievement, reflecting the quality of education provided by the University.
In turn, Engineer Hussein Younis from the Faculty of Engineering said, "The competition was designed to bridge the gap between what students learn in the curricula and international competitions that simulate real problems, and how to use programming languages to solve these problems." He noted that the competition was prepared according to the standards of international competitions, focusing on the diversity of questions and the environment employed in the competition.
