
Stanford University has announced the list of the top 2% of scientists in the world for 2024 based on the Scopus-Elsevier database. The list included three researchers from the Arab American University, out of 19 Palestinian researchers, namely, from the Faculty of Science, Professor Dr. Atef Qasrawi, and Professor Dr. Bashar Saad, and from the Faculty of Engineering, Professor Dr. Ibrahim Mahameed.
It is worth noting that the list includes scientists from different countries of the world in 22 diverse scientific fields, and 174 sub-specialties. The Arab American University's ranking in terms of the researchers' affiliation is number 3 in Palestine on this list.
For his part, Professor Dr. Mohammed Awad, Dean of Scientific Research at the Arab American University, said that the selection of three scientists from AAUP is clear evidence of the efforts made by researchers at the University, and reflects the commitment of the Deanship of Scientific Research and the researchers to excellence in global scientific contributions and to raise the University's status in all scientific forums.
For his part, the Acting President of the Arab American University, Dr. Bara Asfour, congratulated the scientists and researchers at the University on their selection among the list of the top 2% of scientists worldwide, praising their contribution through their distinguished research in raising the status and name of AAUP in the global scientific arena. He stressed that the University administration always encourages and supports scientific research to produce more distinguished research published in prestigious international journals.
