The Arab American University is seeking to hire a “laboratory technician” in the (biology, anatomy, histology, microbiology) laboratories / Faculty of Medicine - Ramallah on a full-time temporary employment contract.

The laboratory technician is expected to cooperate with faculty members, prepare laboratory materials and tools, and assist students in performing experiments and understanding the results. The lab technician must be able to perform various tests and analyzes in the field of biology, anatomy, and tissues, as well as document the results with accurately.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Preparing and equipping laboratories, assisting faculty members and students, and providing the necessary technical support.
2. Preserving biological samples and tissues used in medical education and research, such as human tissues and organs, corpses, blood, urine, animal samples, and microbiology.
3. Prepare tissues, organs, and samples accurately for use in teaching and research, while documenting detailed information about the samples.
4. Conduct various analyses and tests related to tissues, anatomy, and microbiology and record the results accurately.
5. Adherence to the safety procedures and health and environmental standards necessary to preserve his personal safety and the safety of samples and the environment.
6. Accurately document all processes and results and prepare detailed reports for use in research and assessment.
7. Participate in training students and explain some techniques in the laboratory.
8. Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment and devices used in laboratories.
9. Follow up on periodic maintenance of devices and equipment with the competent departments.
10. Follow up on laboratories’ needs for materials and stationery and follow up with the competent departments.

Skills and Qualifications Required for the Job:

1. The applicant must have a bachelor’s degree or diploma in biology or medical laboratory sciences from an accredited university.
2. The applicant must have at least a one-year practical experience in the specialization.
