
A delegation from the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory at the Arab American University met with the Governor of Nablus, Ghassan Daghlas, to discuss a number of joint cooperation points, represented in the field of health care, especially in light of the presence of the University's Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory, the first in the country and the Middle East.
Mr. Daghlas welcomed the delegation, which included the Director of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory, Eng. Mustafa Irshaid, the Technical Director of the Factory, Mr. Walid Abu Samra, and the Director of Public Relations at the University, Mr. Firas Saifi.
The two sides discussed the latest developments in the Factory project, its technologies, development, and academic programs, as well as prospects for developing it to meet the needs of those affected in Palestine in general and Nablus Governorate in particular. The possibility of expanding the provision of Factory services and providing the latest technologies and devices used in the manufacture of prosthetics was also discussed.
The Governor of Nablus praised the efforts made by the University in serving the Palestinian community, stressing the importance of the partnership between the public and private sectors in achieving sustainable development. For his part, the Director of the Factory conveyed the greetings of the Acting President of the University Dr. Bara Asfour. He praised the societal role provided to stand with our people in difficult circumstances. He also stressed the University's readiness to cooperate with all governmental and private institutions to serve citizens.
The technical director of the Factory, Mr. Walid Abu Samra, presented the most prominent technologies that the Factory possesses in manufacturing prosthetics from the German company Ottobock and the international accreditation of the Factory and the CadCam device that distinguishes the Factory in its accuracy in sculpting limbs and many other features.
