At the same time, AAUP upholds confidentiality and data protection as essential responsibilities, ensuring a balanced approach that safeguards privacy and data confidentiality while fostering an open and informed academic environment.

Affirmation of the Right to Access to Information:
AAUP reaffirms that access to the university information is a fundamental right that drives transparency, accountability, and societal development.
AAUP acknowledges the growing significance of this right in the digital age, where the rapid expansion of information necessitates greater accessibility and awareness are needed.
While advocating for open access, AAUP also recognizes that this right is not absolute and must be balanced with privacy and confidentiality protections.
Protection and Preservation of Information:
AAUP is committed to safeguarding and maintaining the right of relevant stakeholders to access information.
Simultaneously, AAUP ensures the protection of private and sensitive information belonging to faculty, staff, students, and patients, respecting their right to confidentiality.
This commitment is upheld through AAUP bylaws and regulations, which are regularly reviewed and updated to align with best practices.
Transfer of Information to Third Parties:
AAUP strictly adheres to legal and regulatory frameworks governing the transfer of information to third parties, particularly regarding medical and sensitive data.
