This Code of Ethics defines the principles and guidelines that govern the behavior of students, faculty, staff, administrators, and all members of the university community. By adhering to these standards, AAUP fosters a culture of integrity, trust, respect, and accountability.

Integrity and Honesty:
AAUP acts with integrity, honesty, and truthfulness in all interactions and dealings.
AAUP maintains high standards of personal and professional ethics, avoiding conflicts of interest and refraining from engaging in dishonest, fraudulent, or deceptive practices.
Respect and Inclusion:
AAUP treats all individuals with dignity, respect, and fairness, valuing diversity and fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment.
AAUP embraces, promotes and maintains an atmosphere free from discrimination, harassment, or any form of prejudice based on race, color, religion, gender, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
Academic and Intellectual Integrity:
AAUP upholds the principles of academic honesty, avoiding plagiarism, cheating, and any form of academic misconduct.
AAUP attributes ideas, data, and intellectual contributions appropriately, giving proper credit to the work of others.
Confidentiality and Data Privacy:
AAUP respects the privacy and confidentiality of individuals' personal, sensitive, and digital information, ensuring its protection and appropriate use in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
AAUP handles university records, data, digital information, and intellectual property responsibly and securely, safeguarding them from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
Professional Conduct:
AAUP maintains professional conduct in our roles and responsibilities, upholding the highest standards of competence, diligence, and accountability.
AAUP fosters a collaborative and collegial environment, promoting teamwork, cooperation, and open communication.
Compliance with Laws and Policies:
AAUP complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies governing our activities, including those related to academic integrity, research ethics, employment practices, health and safety, and financial management.
AAUP promptly reports any suspected violations of laws or policies and cooperates with related investigations.
Responsible Use of Resources:
AAUP uses university resources, including facilities, equipment, funds, and information systems, responsibly, efficiently, and for legitimate purposes.

Implementation and Compliance
To ensure the effective implementation of policy, AAUP will:
Communicate the code to all individuals associated with the university, providing training, guidance, and resources to promote understanding and compliance.
Establish processes and channels for reporting and addressing ethics-related concerns or violations, ensuring confidentiality, fairness, and appropriate resolution.
Conduct periodic reviews and assessments of the code's effectiveness, making necessary updates and improvements as required.
Integrate ethical considerations into decision-making processes, policies, and practices throughout the university.
Measures
The following measures (indicators) can be used to assess the utilization of this policy:
Policy Acknowledgment: Percentage of university stakeholders who have formally acknowledged and agreed to abide by the Code of Ethics.
Ethical Violations Reporting: Number of reported instances of ethical violations or concerns raised by stakeholders.
Timely Resolution: Average time taken to investigate and address reported ethical violations.
Ethics Training Participation: Percentage of faculty, staff, and students who have participated in ethics awareness sessions.
Ethical Culture Perception: Survey results measuring stakeholders' perception of the university's ethical culture and commitment to the Code of Ethics.
