Minister Musa Abu Zaid

Musa Abu Zaid was born in 1962 and holds a B.A and M.A in Political Economy from Bulgaria. He participated in training on future leadership at the Kennedy School at Harvard University in 2014.

Minister Musa Abu Zaid has been the Chairman of the General Personnel Council in the State of Palestine since 2011 until today. He is also the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Palestinian National School of Administration. He was the Acting Minister of Youth and Sports between 2006 and 2011, and currently, he is the Chairman of the Higher Committee for Career Planning for Civil Service Employees in the State of Palestine since 2014, and the Chairman of the National Team for Joining the Open Government Partnership (OGP) as of 2015. Currently, he chairs the General Assembly of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development in Cairo, which includes the ministers of administrative development in the Arab world, and serves as the Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Network for Public Administration Research (MENAPAR). He is also the Vice President of the International Association of Schools and Institutes of Public Administration for the Middle East (IASIA), based in Brussels.

Mr. Abu Zaid has extensive experience in developing public administration in Palestine. He is an active member of many public administration networks at the national, regional and international levels. He also encourages and supports women, youth, marginalized groups and people with disabilities.

He is married and has three daughters. He speaks Arabic, English and Bulgarian.
