Program Admission Requirements

For Students Holding a General Secondary Education Certificate or its Equivalent

  • The applicant must hold a General Secondary Education Certificate (Tawjihi) or an equivalent qualification.
     
  • Required secondary education stream: All streams .
     
  • Minimum admission average for the intended program: 65% .
     
  • Seat availability in the desired program of study.

 

For Students Holding a Bagrut Certificate

  • The applicant must hold a Bagrut Certificate (Te'udat Bagrut / תעודת בגרות).
     
  • Minimum admission average for the intended program: 65% .
     
  • Seat availability in the desired program of study.

Documents required from applicants

Original and legalized copies of the documents below must be submitted in order to secure full admission

  1. Fill out AAUP online Application.
     
  2. A certified Palestinian high school certificate, in addition to the original copy of the non-Palestinian high school diploma or its equivalent of foreign certificates from the Palestinian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in addition a sealed and duly signed certificate and all related documents. And for Bagrut Students, Original Bagrut diploma (Taodat Bagrut / תעודת בגרות) and translated to English or Arabic as duly authorized by the notary public.
     
  3. National Identity Card (local applicants) or passport (international applicants).
     
  4. Original birth certificate or a copy duly certified.
     
  5. Two Personal photos.
     
  6. Stress Examination (only applicants for Sport Sciences program).

Bagrut ( Taodat / תעודת בגרות ) Certificate Holders Related Information

Foreign (International) Certificate Holders Related Information

Foreign (International) Secondary Certificate holders (IB, SAT, IGCSE, GCE, GCSE) and Saudi Arabia
 

The student can send his documents (a transcript of the grades of the foreign certificate and bring proof that the student has studied the eleventh and twelfth grades in the country that issued the equivalency and the equivalency issued by the Palestinian Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research) via the e-mail [email protected], to get informed about the final average and the possibility of acceptance in the specialization the student wishes to join.

Diploma Certificate Holders: Bridging to Bachelor’s Degree

Any student who has completed his diploma studies from a college recognized by the Ministry may apply to one of the corresponding bachelor’s programs offered by the university for the purpose of bridging, provided that he meets the following conditions:

Academic System and Study Load

  • Academic study at the Arab American University is conducted in accordance with the credit hour system. The academic year comprises two compulsory semesters, each lasting sixteen weeks, in addition to a mandatory summer semester for specific specializations. The University observes a weekly closure on Fridays and Saturdays. All other official holidays are detailed in the Academic Calendar, which is published at the commencement of each semester.
     
  • The study load for a regular, full-time student typically ranges between 12 and 19 credit hours per semester. The total number of credit hours prescribed for each academic program is structured to enable students to fulfill the requirements for a bachelor’s degree within a standard duration of four years. Exceptions apply to certain specializations: students enrolled in programs offered by the Faculty of Engineering, the Doctor of Dental Surgery program in the Faculty of Dentistry, the Faculty of Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Nursing generally require five years to complete their bachelor's degrees. Meanwhile, students pursuing a degree in the Faculty of Medicine are required to complete six years of study. Additionally, intermediate diploma degree programs are designed to be completed in two years.

Application Review Process

Admissions staff will review each application individually. The requirements will be checked and matched with the specific requirements of applicant's chosen specialization and decisions will be made, applying doesn’t mean you got accepted in the specialization.

Documents

Required original documents must be submitted with the application. Note that AAUP gives limited time frame to submit the required documents with your application.

Personal Interview

In some specializations student must succeed a personal interview, theoretical exam, or practical exam to complete the admission process.
