The Arab American University, in partnership with Medical Relief, had concluded the “First Aid Course,” in the presence of the University’s Assistant President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, the Dean of the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, Dr. Mohammad Amro, the Director of Medical Relief, Dr. Jamil Hamad, and Mr. Mohammad Abu Al Haija, the Training Courses Officer.
The graduation ceremony was inaugurated with a welcoming speech by the Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, in which she stressed to the students the necessity of participating in these courses, based on national, social and humanitarian responsibility and in light of the current conditions that our Palestinian people are going through. The course included the basics of first aid and proper dealing with injuries and accidents, whether inside or outside the country, the University or outside it. Dr. Laila also explained that one of the outcomes of this course is the formation of an ambulance team inside the University from the students participating in this course.
Dr. Mohammad Amro pointed out the importance of dealing with injuries properly by following the basic principles of first aid. He also stressed to the students the University’s interest in developing the students’ medical skills. He thanked the students for their commitment to the course and that the University is providing all facilities in order to enable them to practice their academic and practical lives to the fullest. Dr. Jamil Hamad, Director of Medical Relief, spoke about the importance of community partnership with the Arab American University and that they seek to provide advanced-level courses for students in order to enhance the students’ social and patriotic role.
