A delegation from the Arab American University, which included the Assistant President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, the Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Imad Fashafsheh, and the Director of Public Relations, Mr. Firas Saifi, visited the Arab American University police station, where they were received by the director of the station, Colonel Faisal Awwad.
The visit was paid to discuss the mechanism of cooperation between the University and the police station and develop a plan for order and organization in preparation for the new academic year, as well as to present some proposals and ideas for implementation.
At the beginning of the meeting, Colonel Faisal Awwad welcomed the delegation and stressed the importance of having a station in the University area that provided security and safety, organized traffic and provided an appropriate environment for University students and the local community in the area. He praised the cooperation with the Arab American University, which provided all the needs to achieve the desired goals, noting that all the obstacles and chaos that were present in the University’s surrounding area previously had been controlled.
For her part, the Assistant to AAUP President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, praised the role of the University Police Station in providing security and safety and organizing traffic around AAUP, especially in the morning hours when students and employees head to the University. She expressed the University's readiness to cooperate in order to develop a comprehensive plan to provide order for students, and indicated that the University's is looking forward to hearing proposals and ideas from the Police Station to work together to implement them.
The two parties discussed many ideas and proposals in preparation for the new academic year, stressing the need to hold another meeting to put the final touches on the plan to implement it before the start of the fall semester of the academic year 2024/2025.
