The Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University has announced the launch of preparations for the second summer session at the Universities of Oxford and Dundee in the United Kingdom.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Malik Zaben, explained that the academic and administrative staffs receive applications from students interested in the course and nominate a number of them to participate through a specialized academic committee and within international standards. Forty five male and female students have been selected to attend this course in Britain.

Dr. Zaben pointed out that this course is being held for the second time after the success of the first, in which forty male and female students participated in a distinguished summer course at the Universities of Oxford and Dundee. The participation had a significant impact on developing the students’ skills academically and practically. Dr. Zaben explained that the AAUP Faculty of Medicine is distinguished in organizing such a course within agreements with prestigious universities in the United Kingdom, and within the framework of interest in graduating distinguished doctors to provide the Palestinian community with medical staff capable of dealing with local problems, and at the same time being informed and communicating with the outside world, especially in international prestigious universities.

Dr. Zaben stressed the University's role in supporting these initiatives and activities morally and financially, despite all the circumstances the country is going through. Moreover, he explained that the Deanship of the Faculty of Medicine has a role in making efforts to help and support students at all stages of their studies in the faculty.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Malik Zaben, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at the Arab American University, previously gave a presentation to accepted students via Zoom platform on the traveling and procedures as well as the importance of investing in this opportunity in order to build a bright professional future.

It is worth noting that the Dean of the Faculty is on a working visit to the United Kingdom to follow up on the latest arrangements for the course with the universities and concerned authorities. Dr. Zaben confirmed that the final procedures have been made to receive the students next July.
