A delegation of Arab American University students visited the Jenin Police Directorate, accompanied by Dr. Laila Herzallah, Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, with the aim of informing the police about the initiative launched by the University under the title "Prevention from Drugs".
The student delegation was received by the Director General of Police, Major General Allam Al-Saqqa, and the Director of Jenin Police, Brigadier General Azam Jabara. Major General Al-Saqqa praised the partnership between the police and the University, appreciating the community initiative that calls for prevention from drugs. He noted that these community initiatives are among the most important work strategies, and that universities have a scientific and educational role in supporting such initiatives. He also expressed the readiness of the police in all its departments and administrations to provide a helping hand and assistance to all segments of society.
For her part, the University's Assistant to the President for Community Affairs, Dr. Laila Herzallah, indicated that the initiative launched by the University, called "Friends of the Police", aims to monitor negative phenomena that affect society to reduce crimes, appreciating the role of the police in providing a safe educational environment around the Arab American University.
Lieutenant Colonel Hisham Mansour, Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Jenin Branch, provided a comprehensive explanation of the nature of the department's work, its structure, and the types of drugs to raise awareness and stay away from them, touching on the legal procedures followed in this regard.
