The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the Arab American University honored students who participated in the IEEE Xtreme International Competition in its eighteenth edition, where AAUP ranked tenth and twelfth locally, and 123rd and 196th globally. The teams that won first, second and third place at the University level were also honored.

With the presence of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Mahmoud Obeid, the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technology, Dr. Mohammad Maree, the President of the IEEE Society and the Society’s Supervisor, Mr. Sami Awad, and the Director of the Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence, Eng. Mays Awad, they delivered certificates and symbolic awards to the participating teams.

During the speeches given during the ceremony, the importance of participating in this international competition was emphasized by the students of the Arab American University, indicating that this contributes to refining the students’ personalities, and helps them find solutions and innovation, and think about development as well as progress.

The students thanked the IEEE Society for their efforts in organizing this competition, Foothill Company, the official sponsor of this competition, and Hassib Sabbagh IT Center of Excellence for hosting this competition and providing logistical support throughout it.
