Students of the Master in Health Informatics in Arab American University recommended that the health data in Palestine need to be qualified and prepared in a way to benefit students and professors of graduate studies.

Students presented their analysis of the data that they got from the Ministry of Health.

Mohammad Khatib and Alaa’ Abu Aisha presented analysis to data related to corona patients, especially the status of the patient (severe or normal) and the relation of the status to the blood type, age and gender.

Ali Helo and Nisreen Nazzal presented an analysis of the time series related to the weekly cases of COVID-19 according to the area and gender, whereas Bushra Shalaldeh and Muath Lahlbat presented a data analysis for the newborns in Rafedea hospital in 2020, whether it is cesarean section or not, and the percentiles for the weights of newborns.

On the other hand, Kayan Abu Khayzaran, Hazim Salem and Mohammad Salah presented a data analysis of the pregnancy weeks, newborns weight and the relation between the mother’s and newborn’s height. Where Bade’aa Mansour presented a data analysis of Brucella bacteria and the number of cases in the different places, and concluded that the number of cases in Hebron is the highest.

Students Asma Khalil and Talin Al Aama explained the characteristics of cancer patients that they got from Biet Jala Hospital. They did analysis according to age, smokers or non-smokers and gender, and they got some interesting results that should be submitted to doctors who supervise cancer cases and to people in the different interested institutions.

Student Amjad Atallah presented analysis about newborns especially babies that are transferred to intensive care unit.

All analysis of students concluded some results and recommendations that can benefit the health system in Palestine. For instance, the Ministry of Health can benefit from the successful experiences of the PCBS especially concerning the providing of raw data to researchers.

While preparing their researches, students faced two main problems which are: the difficulty to reach and get data and the type of the data they found. They revealed some problems related to the method of data entry and its accuracy, and this requires some review to be done by officials in the Ministry of Health in order to prepare the data that will benefit researchers at the local, regional and global levels.

All students represented their analysis under the supervision and collaboration of Dr. Faisal Awartani who teaches this course.
