The Palestinian legislator made compulsory insurance on vehicles under Insurance Law No. (20) of 2005 AD obligatory, and the reason behind that is the legislator’s interest in caring and protecting those affected by road accidents as a result of the use of vehicles of various types, in light of the increasing number of those affected by road accidents, and on the other hand Establishing the basis of the victim's entitlement to obtain compensation in a way that compensates for the damage he has suffered. This study aims to explain the legal basis for compensation for damages resulting from road accidents, in addition to determining the mechanisms for estimating the value and amount of compensation due, based on what was stated in the Palestinian insurance law in force, whether from the point of view of the judiciary, jurisprudence, or legislation, based on the descriptive and analytical approach of texts. The legal regulations governing this type of insurance.
The study concluded that the responsibility for compensating the injured person as a result of the road accident in the Palestinian law is complete and absolute.
