About Program

Overview

With an increase in the global concern regarding sustainable food quality and healthy living, and in advancements in technology, people today view health as the most important aspect of their lives. The program offers a comprehensive set of advanced topics including food bioscience (microbiology and safety, fermentation), modern food processing, evidence – based functional foods, modern analytical science and human nutrition. The program will investigate the scientific aspects of food, nutrition and the wider implications of diet on our health and wellbeing.

Goals

Identify and analyze problems that require a nutrition solution.
Develop the student's abilities to conceptualize research problems in the area of Nutrition and Food Industry.
Synthesize ideas and approaches in the research problem
Analyze and interpret data
Transmit his or her findings to the industry and community
Expand his or her knowledge in Nutrition and Food Industry.
Be able to interpret and communicate results in scientific research in food and nutrition field.
Understand the relation between nutrition and health.

The proposed program will prepare the students for a variety of positions and careers in the fields of Nutrition and Food Industry through developing a strong foundation in theoretical and practical knowledge of food and nutrition.
