Program Admission Requirements

  • Applicant must be a holder of a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, pharmacy, or medical laboratory from a recognized academic institution by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education with a grade of at least "good" standing.

  • and Pass the English placement test.

Documents Required from Applicants

Original and legalized copies of the documents below must be submitted in order to secure full admission

  1. Fill out AAUP online Application.
  2. Original or Legalized copies of Academic Certificate and Transcript. ( certified by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education).
  3. Transcript of high school diploma certified / or its equivalent by the Palestinian Ministry of Education.
  4. Original birth certificate or a copy duly certified copy.
  5. Copy of the National Identity Card (local applicants) or a copy of the passport (international applicants).
  6. Recent personal photo (2 pictures).
  7. Two letters of recommendation either academic or professional.
  8. A motivation written and signed by the applicant. ( one to three pages ).
  9. Original experience certificate (English) if found.
  10. For students transferring from another university to the Arab American University, a sealed transcript from the previous university is required and must be submitted. If the university is outside Palestine, the transcript must be certified by the Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Academic System and Study Load

  • The study at the Arab American University is based on the credit hours system. The academic year consists of two compulsory semesters of sixteen weeks each, and an optional eight-week summer semester. The university weekend days are on Friday and Saturday of each week. Other holidays are announced in the university academic calendar at the beginning of each academic year.
     
  • The normal course load for a full-time student during any semester (spring or fall) is considered to range from 6-12 credit hours. Such a load allows students the opportunity to complete the requirements of the master’s degree in four semesters, except for Master of Business Administration (MBA).
     
  • The course load for the PhD in Business program is 18 credit hours per academic year.
     
  • As for the PhD in Information Technology Engineering program, Thesis hours are calculated within the course load. The maximum course load for the summer semester is 6 credit hours. The student must be free for a period of no less than two regular semesters while working on the thesis.

Application Review Process

Admissions staff will review each application individually. The requirements will be checked and matched with the specific requirements of applicant's chosen specialization and decisions will be made, applying doesn’t mean you got accepted in the specialization.

Documents

Required original documents must be submitted with the application. Note that AAUP gives limited time frame to submit the required documents with your application.

Personal Interview

In some specializations student must succeed a personal interview, theoretical exam, or practical exam to complete the admission process.
