Minister of Health Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan has discussed with officials at the Arab American University ways to enhance cooperation in the field of health, during a meeting that included the University's Vice President for the Ramallah campus, Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia, the Director of the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory, Professor Mustafa Irshaid, and the technical director of the Factory, Mr. Walid Abu Samra.
The University representatives briefed the minister on the file of prosthetics provided by the University in various types, the mechanisms of work in it and meeting the needs of citizens of different ages and categories. The meeting also addressed the academic aspect of the bachelor's program in "Prosthetics and Orthotics" offered by the University on its main campus in Jenin.
The minister praised the efforts of the Arab American University in various medical and health specialties, and the great interest the University pays in joint cooperation with government institutions in general, and the Ministry of Health in particular, as well as the University's keeping pace with academic and practical study methods and techniques in the health field. This contributes to enhancing students' capabilities and enriching their scientific and practical knowledge, as is the case with many Palestinian universities that we are proud of.
In turn, Professor Dr. Mohammad Asia confirmed that the Arab American University and the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory are ready to cooperate with the Ministry of Health scientifically and technically to develop medical fields and the field of prosthetics in particular.
It is important to note that the Prosthetics and Orthotics Factory at the Arab American University is the first and largest in the Middle East and is equipped with the latest technologies and technological devices that comply with international specifications according to the International Organization of Prosthetics Specialists "ISPO". The Factory's facilities are used to teach and train undergraduate students in Prosthetics and Orthotics.
