The Arab American University announces openings for a Part-Time 'Medical Equipment Engineering Lab Technician' in the Faculty of Engineering / Jenin campus, starting from the First Semester of the Academic Year 2025/2026.
The selected candidate is expected to o be able to effectively contribute to supporting the educational process and practical training, adhere to general safety procedures inside the laboratory, be cooperative with students and faculty members, possess the skill to operate and maintain devices and tools, and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and commitment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise the preparation, operation, and maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring their readiness.
- Collaborate with faculty members in training students on the use of medical devices and measurement and analysis software.
- Assist in preparing demonstrations or practical experiments during applied lectures.
- Support research projects or graduation projects that require technical setups or specialized equipment.
- Ensure the safety of the equipment, conduct periodic inspections, and report any technical malfunctions.
- Manage and organize equipment and materials, and regularly update the inventory record.
- Adhere to general safety procedures within the laboratory and supervise their implementation by students.
- Contribute to the development and improvement of the technical performance of the laboratories and provide technical suggestions.
- Support faculty members in exam invigilation.
Qualifications and Skills Required for the Job:
- The applicant must hold a degree in one of the following specializations:
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Equipment Engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering.
- Any related specialization.
- The applicant must have good knowledge of the following courses and areas:
- Biomechanics
- Biomedical Instrumentation
- Biomedical Sensors and Devices
- Measurement Systems
- MATLAB
- Practical experience of at least one year in the field at an academic institution is preferred.
- A certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards is preferred.
