The Arab American University announces openings for a “Radiology Technician” in the Laboratories of the Faculty of Dentistry at Ramallah Campus, on a full-time fixed-term contract.
The Radiology Technician will be responsible for performing dental radiographic procedures for patients, training and assisting dental students in dental and maxillofacial imaging techniques, while ensuring full compliance with approved quality standards and radiation safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform dental radiographic procedures in accordance with approved medical standards.
- Receive and verify imaging requests to ensure all required approvals are completed.
- Prepare and position patients for radiographic procedures while adhering to professional ethics and patient care standards.
- Supervise and support the training of dental students in dental and maxillofacial radiology techniques.
- Evaluate radiographic image quality and ensure compliance with approved technical standards.
- Operate radiology equipment, maintain operational readiness, and coordinate routine maintenance as needed..
- Comply with radiation safety procedures and infection control policies.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and general safety standards within the radiology unit.
- Organize, document, and archive radiographic images and related reports using approved systems.
- Contribute to planning the department’s needs for materials, tools, and equipment.
- Prepare periodic workflow reports and submit them to the direct supervisor.
- Collaborate effectively with medical and academic staff to support the educational and clinical process.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the direct supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills Required for the Job:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Radiology or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of one year of practical experience.
- Valid professional practice license.
- Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) from an accredited provider.
