The University Hosts an Introductory Workshop About Free-lance Academy

Arab American University hosted a workshop to introduce the Free-lance Academy presented by Rand Safi, Program Officer at Gaza Sky Geeks, with the participation of graduates and interested students.

The Head of Alumni Affairs Department Mr. Bilal Al-Ashqar welcomed the audience and praised the organization of such events for university students to open new horizons for graduates, assuring that such events align with the University's vision of the importance of working on developing the capabilities of graduates and enriching their experience with more training and acquiring the skills required by the labor market.

Rand Safi thanked Arab American University for providing the opportunity to meet with the students and graduates. She explained that the main message of the Free-lance Academy, which was established in the West Bank recently in partnership with Paltel, to give the Young people the opportunity to compete for the jobs and opportunities available on the Internet, and this trend is a priority in light of the difficult economic situation in Palestine and the raise of unemployment facing our society.

She spoke about the most programs offered by "Gaza Sky Geeks", programs specialized in programming and free-lance and specialized training program and community building program in addition to the program of start-ups companies.

As she also explained the mechanism to submit as the first group at Free-lance Academy in West Bank, and ways of networking from stakeholders, reviewing many success stories in this field globally and in Palestine.
