Got the Second and third places on the national level
Arab American University of Jenin won the Islamic Bank national award for scientific research. The university got the second and third ranks in the category of "Research Excellence for Graduate Studies Students”. This award was granted after presenting a research by two students, from the master program, in the computer program; Ibrahim Qasrawi and Aseel Kmail.
The Scientific Research award was launched in collaboration between the Islamic Palestinian Bank and the Palestine Polytechnic University, for five categories, in order to support the scientific research and to encourage researchers in the Palestinian universities.
The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology, Dr. Mohammed Hamarsheh, clarified that Ibrahim Qasrawi won the second place, and Aseel Kmail was ranked third. Both Qasrawi’s and Camile’s studies were out of three national projects that had been presented before, in research excellence category for graduate studies students.
Dr. Hamarshh also stated, that Ibrahim Qasrawi’s project was supervised by Dr. Mohammed Awad. It has focused on predicting the ability of the changing photovoltaic cells on producing energy under the climate changing. This study aims to serve the workers in this field to choose the right place for the installation of photovoltaic for the production of solar cells. In order to raise its efficiency and utilization. In turn, Aseel Kmail, who was supervised by Dr. Mohammed Merai, has focused in her research on reconciling the employment ads and biographies of the people, who want to work through using sources icon meanings and statistical techniques. In other words, she has built an initial proposed system, and implementable proposed techniques. Kmail has also tested the effectiveness of the proposed techniques through the implementation of multiple tests on a range of employment ads and biographies, and the researcher published the results in two scientific conferences last year.
Dr. Hamarsheh thanked the donors of this award, stressing that the Arab-American university students are always innovative in all fields, including the scientific research. He also stated that the university is highly interested in this field, which is one of the main pillars upon which nations achieve the advancement for their societies and people. That the scientific research has a big role in promoting creativity and excellence, innovation and the industries development.
The vision of "Islamic Bank Award for Scientific Research", on the other hand, is to promote the scientific research in Palestine, and improve the quality of its output. It also aims to encourage new researchers as its mission is seeking to develop knowledge and research environment. So as to enrich the society with scientific and creative works. This award targets faculty members in the Palestinian students in universities in different degrees: doctorate, master and bachelor.
