The University’s President Participates in the Regional Conference About Education in the Arab World in the Third Millennium

Arab American University’s President Prof. Ali Zidan Abu Zuhri, and Prof. Dr. Imad Abu Kishk, President of Al Quds University, participated in the regional conference organized in the Arab Republic of Egypt entitled "Education in the Arab World in the Third Millennium".

The conference was organized by the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait in cooperation with the League of Arab States along with the National Planning Institute of Egypt and Arab League Educational Cultural and Scientific Organization “ALECSO”. The conference aimed to discuss the most important problems and challenges facing the educational system in the Arab countries, and supporting education reform and improving its outputs.

Prof. Abu Zuhri pointed out that one of Arab American University strategic goals is to participate in local, regional and international conferences, and to be well-known worldwide, and to participate in the development of plans and objectives to enhance the educational system and cultural, whether at the local, regional or international levels.

He explained that the conference focused on three tracks in its sessions and events, the transition from education to learning, from indoctrination to creativity and innovation, and the requirements of transforming the components of educational process to this frame. The conference also focused on evaluating and reforming the education sector's management and financing system in a manner that enhances competitiveness, raises the level of institutional performance as well as connecting education to the development needs in light of the challenges from the new global economic system.

He added, In order to achieve this qualitative leap its required to build a human capital, develop and activate conscious educational policies, based on a comprehensive and practical structural reform models that transparently defines the process of transformation, mechanisms and foundations.
