Dear Graduate Studies Students

Kindly be informed that the registration period for the Spring Semester 2019/2020 will start Feb.17th 2020.

The first day of classes will be Feb. 29th, 2020.

Add/Drop period will start from Feb. 29th, 2020 until March 7th, 2020.

The last day of classes in the Spring Semester (Last day of final exams) will be June 19th, 2020

The above dates are for all graduate programs except for the MBA, PhD in Business and the PhD in Information Technology Engineering.

Dear Students

Kindly be informed that registering for the spring semester is still open, and the Add and Drop Without “W” period will be from Sat. Feb.15th, 2020 until Fri. Feb.21st, 2020.

All students should use their student study plan to help them choose the courses that they need to register. Any student faces a problem in registration; please contact the Dean of your faculty to solve the problem during the mentioned period.

After seeing the statement of both the Doctors Syndicate and the Ophthalmological Society concerning the “Doctor of Optometry” program, AAUP administration thinks that it is important to clarify the following:

First: AAUP has never mentioned that graduates of this program will be “doctors” and also never mentioned that graduates will practice medicine.

Arab American University is surprised by the statement of the Palestinian Optometric Syndicate about the Doctor of Optometry program, as AAUP had many meetings with the syndicate to talk about the program, and the syndicate representative understood the importance of this program and how the country needs it. The syndicate also was in our meeting with the Ophthalmological Society and participated in the discussion and stood for the right of the Optometrists to develop their skills in providing service to the community.
