Prof. Ali Zeidan Abu Zuhri- Arab American University President and General Zakarya Musleh- the General Director of the Military Intelligence signed a memorandum of cooperation in AAUP – Ramallah Campus.
The memorandum signing meeting was attended by Dr. Yousef Asfour- the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Brigadier Maher Fares- the Deputy General Manager of the Military Intelligence, Brigadier Imad Hammad- the Security Assistant in the Military Intelligence, the Brigadier General Ra’fat Hijawi- the Training and Planning Manager in the Military Intelligence, the Brigadier General Mahmoud Abu Haroun- the Military Attaché Manager, Brigadier Ahmad Amer- the Public Relations Manager in the Military Intelligence, Brigadier Kamal Hamayel- the Central Operations Manager in the Military Intelligence and Mr. Fadi Jumaa- the Public Relations Manager in Arab American University.
Prof. Abu Zuhri welcomed the guests and emphasized on the importance of collaboration between AAUP and the Military Intelligence, and said that the university seeks to develop the local community and the governmental and private organizations. He also clarified that the university and under collaboration with European, British and Canadian support teams are offering a diploma in Human Resources that target the security services, and many courses were organized and will continue to organize them. Prof. Abu Zuhri expressed that AAUP is ready for future collaboration in Master’s programs that are related to informatics and security. He also gave a short description about the university and its establishment ensuring that the university has three main missions, the academic development, scientific research development and serving local community.
General Zakaria Musleh – the General Director if the Military Intelligence praised the role that Arab American University does and emphasized on the importance of the collaboration between both parties, and said that the university has become a scientific edifice that every Palestinian is proud of.
Dr. Yousef Asfour- the Founding Chairman of the Board of Directors said that Arab American University is always seeking to be distinguish as the university offers new programs that the local, regional and international markets lack. He clarified that in its 21st anniversary, Arab American University has become a shining name in the higher education sector in Palestine and in the region, and it is paving its way to internationality, it is a university for all Palestinians.
Both parties signed the memorandum that included mobility in security and informatics experiences, evaluating the information security status, defining the indicators that reflect the status of information security in Palestine as those indicators are being measured regularly. Moreover, both parties have agreed on collaboration in coordination with the public organizations to help in developing a strategy to information security.
Furthermore, they agreed to exchange experiences in training and planning fields, and in studies, polls, performance measurement and data analysis. Arab American University also provided some partial scholarships for some of the members of the Military intelligence in some of the programs.
