In a pioneering step towards developing the education and health services sector, the Arab American University has signed a strategic memorandum of cooperation with ASTEMIED Company for Medical and Hearing Solutions.
The agreement was signed with the presence of the University’s Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Bara Asfour, the University’s Vice President for Ramallah Campus, Professor Mohammad Asia, and the Director of Administration and Operations of ASTEMIED Company, Mr. Mustafa Obaidi.
Professor Mohammad Asia said that this agreement represents an important step in the University’s endeavor to achieve educational excellence and provide high-quality learning opportunities through the use of the latest and best educational and technological means. He added: “The importance of this agreement lies in the qualitative addition to the services provided by the Hearing and Speech Center on the University’s campus in Jenin, which was established in 2020 as part of the integrated rehabilitation services in the University Medical Rehabilitation Complex.”
In turn, Dr. Bara Asfour said that this partnership reflects the University’s interest in providing the community with the latest hearing technologies for citizens who need this service in the northern West Bank area, in partnership with ASTEMIED Company, where citizens can benefit from comprehensive diagnostic and treatment services for hearing patients.
In turn, Mr. Mustafa Obaidi said: “We are honored to sign this agreement with the Arab American University, and we affirm our commitment to providing the latest hearing technologies to improve the quality of patients’ lives based on the company’s ultimate mission. Moreover, the University’s Hearing and Speech Center will provide the latest internal and external medical stethoscopes and artificial intelligence stethoscopes from Starkey American Company.” Mr. Obaidi also confirmed that the company will provide its expertise and services to support AAUP’s hearing clinic, and this will contribute to providing advanced and effective medical care to patients.
The agreement includes cooperation in the field of providing, maintaining and programming medical stethoscopes, training specialized teams, providing balance examination services and participating in community services in the field of hearing.
This partnership is an important step in improving health care and education services in the local community, and reflects the University’s commitment to providing the best quality services.
