The chairman of board of directors Dr. Yousef Asfour visit AAUP to check on the development projects of infrastructure and buildings, in addition to the latest acheivments regarding the academic and research fields.
the board was welcomed by Prof. Ali Abu Zuhri President of AAUP, member of the board Dr. Raed Dablah and President Assistant Eng. Bara Asfour and the Business man Mr. Ghaleb Al-Hafi.
The Chairman and Vice-Chairman listened to a detailed explanation from the President of the University on the disciplines and academic programs introduced by the University at the beginning of the academic year, and future plans to develop and launch a number of other programs and specializations for undergraduate and graduate studies that will enhance the academic status of the university, and meet the needs of the Palestinian and regional labor market.
They also reviewed the achievements of the university in the field of scientific research, the university's participation in Arab and international research conferences, the partnerships between the university and international research centers, in addition to the continuous development of the university journal for research, as they assured on the awards presented to researchers, and the latest plans to enhance and develop scientific research on both university and national levels.
Dr. Asfour took a toured around the university campus, and took a look on the university's development projects, and checked on the recently completed project which was the semi-Olympic swimming pool.
For his part, Dr. Asfour praised the recent achievements and said that the BoD will continue to develop new projects at both campuses and fully support its various facilities. pointing out that the boards goal is to build a modern typical international university, an incubator of the Palestinian minds, and graduate educated, outstanding, distinguished, and creative personals that are able to create a better future for our people, to be ambassadors of science and civilization and progress to the whole world. "
During the visit,he stressed the university's keenness to provide the necessary support to study the local and regional market and adding distinct academic programs that meet the accelerated global development. where AAUP seeks to graduate is students holding the knowledge and skills as if he is a gradate from European or American universities. furthermore, markets whether in public or private sectors seek to employ the graduates who possesses modern science and skills required for excellence, creativity and success and achieve Objectives of the institution or company that he will work in the future.
The Council approved the establishment of three new buildings on the main campus in Jenin, one to serve the Faculty of Dentistry and the second to serve the Faculty of Allied Medical Sciences, especially the students specializing in prosthetics. The third building, at Ramallah campus to serve the bachelors program in internal architecture and master programs, in addition to containing the library and admission and registration offices and the Department of Finance.
