Arab American University welcomed a delegation from the Palestinian Labor Council coming from Dubai and the northern Emirates. The delegation visited the university accompanied by Eng. Zuhair Hijjawi- a Board of Directors Member aiming to see the university and to have an idea about its academic programs, researches and its different training centers. In addition, they discussed the opportunities of future collaboration in some joint-interest fields.
Accompanied by Eng. Zuhair Hijjawi- a Board of Directors Member, a delegation from the Palestinian Labor Council from Dubai and the Northern Emirates has visited the Arab American University.
Prof. Ali Zeidan AbuZuhri- the university President, the vices president and assistants to the president along with number of Faculty Deans were in the reception of the delegation.
Prof. Abu Zuhri welcomed the guests during the reception, and gave an explanation about the university, its objectives and vision to promote and improve the higher education in Palestine through bringing in new programs that meet the needs of the national and regional market in Bachelor’s, Master’s and PhD Degrees. He added that AAUP focuses on building partnerships with international universities and educational centers to transfer their educational experiences to Palestine and also to exchange experiments and enhance the scientific research in Palestine.
Prof. Abu Zuhri asserted that Arab American University is keen to start collaboration opportunities with the Palestinian Labor Council in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. He explained that the university always seeks to keep good communication relations with abroad Palestinian academics, researchers and economists, to benefit from their experiences and enhance AAUP status regionally by bringing in professional from the different specializations to the university.
Eng. Hijjawi expressed his appreciation to the delegation for visiting Palestine and the Arab American University and for their intention for future collaboration relations. Eng, Hijjawi explained that the Arab American University’s Board of Directors headed by Dr. Yousef Asfour always seeks to develop the infrastructure of the university to be under international specifications in addition to providing the university with the modern facilities and devices for educational labs and trainings. AAUP aims to serve the local community and to reach a level where it can be a model university-city that is considered as a place for Palestinian minds to be creative. By this AAUP can reach the vision of the Board of Directors that it can make a great difference in Palestine and the Arab World.
The delegation had a field tour around the campus where they went to the Faculty of Dentistry and saw the modern clinics. They also visited the Admission and Registration building and were introduced to the admission procedures. Then they visited the Sport Village in the university and expressed their admiration with the university and all its facilities. They asserted that what they saw is something to be proud of and they asserted that a real aiming partnership between both parties should start soon.
