The President of the Arab American University, Professor Dr. Ali Zedan Abu Zuhri, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sama Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company, Engineer Dr. Mahmoud Al Zalmot, signed an agreement of partnership and strategic cooperation between the two parties. This agreement aims at supporting the efforts paid to find harmony between educational outcomes and the needs of the Palestinian market, as well as adopting initiatives and ideas for pioneering projects that support innovation in Palestine.
The signing ceremony, which was held at Sama Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company’s headquarters in Nablus, was attended by the AAUP Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Muayad Abusaa, the Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Dr. Hatem Hijaz, and the General Manager of Sama Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company, Dr. Adeeb Al Saifi.
The two parties agreed to develop human capital and resources, exchange scientific and practical competencies and experiences, as well as develop practical and scientific methodologies and mechanisms to develop the health and pharmacy sector in Palestine. This is to be done by creating mechanisms for exchanging ideas, experiences and information, and by investing in the capabilities available to the University and the Company.
The two parties have also agreed to provide all capabilities in the fields of scientific and applied research and practical training for students, in a way that serves industrial development, helps in developing the partnership between the two parties, and provides practical training opportunities for relevant students, in addition to some graduation projects at the Company.
The AAUP President, Professor Dr. Abu Zuhri, stressed the importance of this agreement with Sama Pharmaceuticals Manufacturing Company, which is known for its professionalism and its constant pursuit of development and competition. Prof. Dr. Abu Zuhri indicated that the University seeks to strengthen and activate the ties of partnership with the private sector, stressing the University’s constant pursuit of development.
