The Deanship of Student Affairs at Arab American University in cooperation with Mahmoud Darwish Museum organized an open cultural day entitled "Almond Blossoms & Beyond" in the memorial of the poet Mahmoud Darwish.

The events launched with a cultural seminar presented by Dr. Mohammad Dawabshih from Faculty of Arts, he talked about the life of the Poet Darwish and assured the importance of this event, advising the students to read and know more about famous Palestinian figures noting that Darwish is a famous unique figure as he talked about his life stages which made him international.
The employee from Student Affairs at the University Ms. Joanna Al-Hafy welcomed the audience and said that March is the month of the birth of the poet Mahmoud Darwish, and from here came the idea of organizing this day to revive his poems and learn more about him. She added that the university is always interest in the cultural side through extracurricular activities, and for the memorial of Cultural Palestinian figures.
The PR Manager at Mahmoud Darwish Museum Ms. Ghazal Al-Nathour thanked the university for hosting this day. She pointed out that the Mahmoud Darwish Museum organizes a series of cultural activities in Palestinian universities, including setting up a volunteer network with universities and engaging young people in cultural activities.
The open cultural day included many cultural and artistic events. The student from faculty of law Jarah Khalaf read a number of Darwish's poems. The university choir presented a musical show from Darwish’s poems and many other activities. In addition to the art presentation entitled "Cupressus tree". The open day also included a corner for the the gifts and books related to Mahmoud Darwish Museum.
